Fall Farm Engagement Session in Southern New Hampshire

Southern New Hampshire Engagement Photographer | Fall Engagement Session Ideas

This post is all about:

inspiration for your fall farm engagement session (cough cough in southern New Hampshire?) This couple, who I just absolutely freaking adore, spent their engagement celebration outdoors, frolicking among the orchards and fields of a quaint farm, and basked in the sunset just the two of them. To this day, this simple, nature-centered experience is something that the THREE of us look back on with such gratitude because it really was the most authentic, silly, simple way to honor their stories coming together. You’ll see for yourself the joy that radiates from these images. Their souls really shine through in this engagement session.

Planning Your Engagement Session In The Fall

As we all can reflect on, this fall in New Hampshire was….rainy. And unpredictable. It seemed that almost every day, even one with mostly sunshine, had spits of rain. For those who may know my approach to outdoor weather, I fully believe embracing the elements with an open mind is where the magic lies for a carefree (yet safe!) experience. However, the nature gods graced upon these two a sunset like NO OTHER this fall evening, and it was pure bliss.

If you plan on your engagement session taking place in the fall, I HIGHLY recommend:

  • being prepared for any weather (umbrellas, layers that you won’t mind being photographed in, shoes that are weather conducive and can handle some mud, blanket for chilling or warming up, etc)
  • wearing attire that brings out the essence of the vibe you’re going for: these two were in classic fall colors with a very flowy / natural look, bringing out the vibrancy and natural essence of this beautiful farm in southern New Hampshire. The feel of their photographs really reflect what that night felt like among the apple orchards, corn fields, pumpkin patches, and lush grasses

Why Choose a Farm For Your Engagement Session?

Truthfully, farms / open fields are some of my favorite places to document engagement sessions. The open, free, often green and vibrant colors in farmland scream “adventure and freedom” in images, as you’ll see. Plus, these spots are often large enough that, if there are others walking, there is still a feel of privacy, romance, and literal space to be yourselves without a big crowd.

This may sound silly, but there was this preliminary vision for this session of these two letting out their inner children (both music educators with PASSIONATE and fun hearts). A farm with a faraway horizon and massive fields was the perfect companion for silly, childlike frolicking. Highly highly recommend considering a farm if this is a similar feel you might resonate with 🙂

I love these two with all my heart. This was truly an honor to witness a love so pure, fun, and joyful. MANY happy adventures ahead, my friends.
